About
Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has released official notification for 708 permanent vacancies of Van Rakshak (Forest Guard) and Vanya Jeev Rakshak (Wildlife Guard) under Advertisement No. 12-Pariksha/2026. This recruitment is exclusively for candidates who qualified PET-2025 and hold a valid UPSSSC PET Score Card. Minimum qualification: Intermediate (10+2). Online applications open from 30 June to 20 July 2026 at upsssc.gov.in. Pay Scale: Level-2 — ₹19,900 to ₹63,200.
⚠️ PET-2025 Mandatory: Only candidates who appeared in UPSSSC PET-2025 and possess a valid Score Card are eligible. Candidates without a PET-2025 Score Card CANNOT apply.

Job Type: All 708 posts are Permanent (Sthayi). Both General Selection and Special Selection posts are permanent government positions under Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Uttar Pradesh.
Eligibility Criteria

Intermediate (10+2) Pass
Intermediate (10+2) passed from Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, Uttar Pradesh or any equivalent examination recognised by the Government.

Selection Process

Shortlisting via PET-2025 Score
Candidates will be shortlisted for the Main Written Exam based on PET-2025 Normalised Score. Candidates up to 15 times the number of advertised posts (up to cut-off, rounded to 2 decimal places) will be called.

Main Written Examination (Objective Type)
100 MCQ questions, 100 Marks, Duration: 2 Hours (120 minutes). Negative marking of ¼ (0.25 marks) for each wrong answer.

Physical Standard Test (PST) — Qualifying
Measurement of height and chest as per category-wise prescribed standards. Clearing this is mandatory.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) — Qualifying
Male: 25 km walk/run carrying 10 kg weight within 4 hours. Female: 14 km walk/run within 4 hours.

Medical Examination — Qualifying
Conducted by Medical Board constituted by Chief Medical Officer at District Community Health Centres. Must pass to proceed.

All original certificates verified at final stage. Any false/tampered document leads to disqualification.
